Miller pumps up public transportation

Transit advocate practices what she preaches Miller Many Americans were outraged when gas prices started to top $3 a gallon in the spring of 2006. Virginia Miller of the American Public Transportation Association saw an opportunity. She launched the first National Dump the Pump Day, encouraging people to park their cars and take a bus or train instead. "People loved the idea.
